Sqoop tutorial 7 : File Formats
The tab-separated CSV file that Sqoop uses by default .If you want to change the default file format then you can use below syntax
sqoop import \
--connect jdbc:mysql://mysql.example.com/sqoop \
--username sqoop \
--password sqoop \
--table cities \
--as-sequencefile
sqoop import \
--connect jdbc:mysql://mysql.example.com/sqoop \
--username sqoop \
--password sqoop \
--table cities \
--as-avrodatafile
sqoop import \
